What's the temperature where you are???

11:15 AM 40F and some rain, 12 to 18 inches predicted. Getting a chuckle out of all the talking heads ginning up the panic and anxiety. Salt and ice melt not available. Milk and bread are as hard to find as hens teeth. What will we do?
We'll sit tight and wait it out, like sane people do.
We can pass the time watching (and laughing at) the fools who insist on trying to have "business as usual" when we have stay-at-home weather. I want to shake them all and tell them, "Stay off the roads, people, so the emergency crews can do their jobs!"

We're currently hovering just above freezing with a fine, misting rain. It's supposed to change to a slushy mix tonight and leave us with 3-6 inches of so-called snow. I'm expecting a mess, even though just 30 minutes east of us has a blizzard warning. Not that any of that matters. I'm fighting the beginnings of a nasty head-cold, so I'll be waiting out the storm in misery. UGH!

I can handle the snow but the power goes out I cry like a beech
Exactly one year before Hurricane Sandy we lost power for 8 days. With Sandy we lost power for 9 days. The next spring we had a house wide Generac generator installed. One of our best investments at this point in the game. :old

Has the snow started for you, yet? We're still way too warm for snow, but DANG, this sky sure looks like it WANTS to!

EDIT to Add: That was written less than 20 minutes ago. That fast, we've dropped to 31F and we have a fine. steady snow that's falling straight down in sheets, like rain. Why don't we ever get a NORMAL snow? :p

I also live somewhere that always gets a lot of snow and I just don't understand the grocery store panic like does 18 in of snow suck? Yes. Are towns that are used to getting 18 in of snow completely cleaned up by the following morning? Also yes haha. Are our utility companies putting a ton of linesmen on call for any downed lines and power outages? ALSO yes 😂 so crazy the panic buying every time there's a storm. It reminds me of when people who go for 3 days of vacation pack like 15 pairs of underwear do you suddenly think you're going to crap your pants every single day, do you suddenly think you're going to need 30 sandwiches during your one day power outage 😂😂 it makes sense a little more in places that aren't used to it but drives me crazy around here! Also why buy the 2 most perishable items in the store before a storm 😂😂😂

This used to drive me crazy about people where I live back in the day. There'd be a snow storm so they'd order pizza so they dont have to go out, and I'd be like so instead youre going to make a 16 year old drive his piece of crap camry with bald tires drive it to you instead??? They just didnt get it 😂
