Hi-
I bought this gigantic beautiful Brahma roo at our state fair this past fall. He was so huge I just had to have him. Brought him home and noticed that he had a funny gait to his walk, sort of like he was stomping his feet with each step. He stayed the same for several months. A few weeks later I noticed that his toenails were loose and falling off, and that his feet look a little swollen. And within the last week it looks like his feet are decaying....they have black tips on the toes and skin looks like it is starting to slough off. He has lost a lot of weight also.
I have tried to research it on the internet, but cant seem to find the answer....
It must not be contagious, as he has been with my hens for 4-5 months and they havent shown any signs at all.
I am devastated....I have gave him different types of antibiotics and vitamins hoping it would help, but nothing is working. I really hate to lose this boy, he is friendly and handsome, plus this breed is pretty hard to find in my area.
Anybody ever saw this before??
What is it and can it be treated??
Please help me!
