Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the colour of the offspring if I cross my Dark Brahma rooster with my Black breasted red Onagadori pullet. What would the offspring look like? Would they be sex-linked colours?
she is still only 4 months old so won’t be laying until a few months from now. Just thought it would be an interesting mix!

Not sex linked.

Gold rooster, silver hen gives sexlinks (silver sons, gold daughters.)
You've got silver rooster, gold hen which gives silver sons & silver daughters.

I would expect all the chicks to be colored sort-of like dark Brahmas. Not exactly, but like a poor quality version, maybe with some yellow or brown or red showing up in the males' shoulders and the females' breasts.

They will probably have some leg feathers (more than Brahma, less than Onagadori).
Combs will probably be pea combs, but bigger than Brahma pea combs, and might be oddly shaped.

Onagadori are longtails, so the offspring will probably have longer tails than the Brahmas, although not as long as pure Onagadori would have. The difference in tail length would be less obvious the first year, more obvious in males as they get to be several years old.

Thank you so much for the info! Good to know what to expect, really looking forward to hatching some chicks out, in the autumn.
