My broody is sitting on some eggs from my Dark Brahma rooster over my Blue Ameraucana hen. Has anybody ever had this cross? Any pictures?

The chicks are due on the 28th but I'd love to see some pics of what to expect...

Unfortunately, no I haven't done this cross yet, but I have a light brahma rooster and a blue Easter Egger hen I'd like to cross just to see what happens. My birds aren't old enough to lay eggs just yet though. Just wondering, how big is your Ameraucana hen? I'm guessing your brahma is around 12lbs? I haven't been raising chickens for long, but I know with other animals the male should be smaller than the female when breeding, or at least around the same size. Is it okay to breed a 5-6lb hen to a 12-13lb rooster?

I was also worried with the size difference, as my rooster is pretty big and besides the Ameraucana I also have a Hamburg and a Faverolles, but they've been together for 8 months now and the Ameraucana follows him everywhere. The Hamburg also, and she has fertile eggs from him. Go figure!

Here is Fawn. He's an 8 1/2 week old Dark Brahma Ameraucana cross.

Here's his daddy and mommy (top right and top mid-left)

Does he look like yours when they were little?

Not very good photos, but these two pullets are Dark Brahma roo x Blue Ameraucana hen. Check out the feathered feet!

They are very pretty

If you're OK with crosses, do this one - they are my favorite hens in the flock - they are bigger than an Ameraucana and smaller than the Brahmas, good bone structure, good size eggs and wonderful temperament. I'm hatching more this year.

If you hatch some, post pictures!

Can you please advise on the egg colour of this cross
