Dark comb (Normal for her) on laying pullet. What breed?

Definitaley sounds melanistic to me. You should research it and see if it fits the description of your bird. Dark legs in chickens is no sign of ill health etc.

I did a little research and mostly what I find is related to a "Melanistic Mutant Pheasant".

I did find one link for Silkies, but that was it. I was able to confirm with the person that gave me the egg that it is entirely possible that she has silkie in her. In fact...she asked if I was interested in 1 or 2 silkie roosters that have both been breeding with all of her hens! That sounds like there is a very good chance she is part silkie!
 
Yes probably, although other than being melanistic there are no signs that she is silkie. Usually silkie crosses have a crest or extra toes
