"I was not in my den. Besides, I don't even have a den," Autumn pointed out sassily. "I was walking to the stream to get some water."

"Just because there's no bump doesn't mean I didn't hit it," Autumn said. Then she winced. "And can you please stop talking so loud? It's giving me a headache."

Smoke looked down, and watched a couple small minos as they darted around. He looked up, and watched a wren as it sung to the sky. With a sigh, he sipped the crisp, cool water, and lay down.
