So we discovered today that one of our EE chicks has a darker pink comb than yesterday but a noticeable difference. While I know this is a sign for a roo, from what I've read it seems too early! All the other chicks have yellow/white/light pink combs. Is it genetic? What else could cause this to happen? I tried to get the color on the photo as close as possible

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE PHOTOS!

So, this is how our young chickmunk has progressed thus far. It seems to hold its head back kindof cocked back and is very quick to chest bump things and square off. At one point it chest bumped the water bottle as my wife set it in the brooder. Pretty funny!

Is it still early to tell?

Quite a pretty/handsome guy/gal. The comb is a little more red than this image is showing.

Side shot as frequently requested. It seems as if he/she is getting some red recently under the wing tips which seems to be a Roo indicator.

Please share your thoughts! Either way I hope to keep it unless aggressive/an extreme nuisance to neighbors.

100% pullet. The alpha female can act very rooster-ish. But that nice, even patterning is all girl.

Thank you all! We are happy it is a she especially since she is one of our two birds that wont lay white eggs!
