Dark/shriveling comb on chicken

Yup! I’ve checked a few times over and I dont see anything. I’ve ordered some DE. I read that it can help get rid of worms?

Yay to no fluid! I just don’t know about the worms, but certainly think a float test is a good idea.

Unfortunately, DE does not get rid of worms. You would need to use something g stronger, if she has them. It would be best to know which worms, if any, she has before treating. However, my understanding is that Valbazen treats them all.

My Delaware is molting and out of lay and her normally crazy bright comb is a shell of itself, so being out of lay I think is part of the change in comb, but this hens comb is especially shriveled and dark, so there seems to be something else going on thats affecting her oxygen levels/blood pressure. All of the advice given is good about the things that could be going on. Sometimes it can be that the hen is fat and movement or laying down can have an effect on the blood pressure/respiration (Ive learned).

Update: i sprinkled DE over her food 2 days ago and her comb seems to look better now! I figured it couldnt make things worse right? She pooped her first solid in today after a lot of runny poops. I hope she starts improving consistently
