My rooster's comb has turned dark in the back. He is about 5 months old. He does not appear to be in any discomfort. I don't think it could be frost bite. Our coop never went below 45 degrees. Is this possibly a heart issue? Or just a fluke? Any suggestions would be welcomed. TIA.

I can’t see the picture well, is it purple on the tips? Frostbite is often white @ crusty. If it’s purple it’s a heart issue.

It is purple. I'll try to get a better picture. Is there anything I should do for him?

It looks like a wound, I wouldn't worry about frostbite or health issues. Cam you get a closer picture to be sure?
I don't think it is a wound. I will try to get a closer picture tomorrow. Thank you.
