I heard that those tree air fresheners in vanilla scent help get rid of flies in coops.

Interesting!

I put up a couple of these fly traps away from the coop:

You don't want them near your house or porch. The stink like rotten meat/eggs. I have removed thousands of flies with these traps.

The "big stinky" as we call it, may irritate some neighbors that are downwind... They are brutal smelling! They work wonderfully though.
DL, your trip sounds like it is coming together and it also sounds like a lot of fun.

The next two days are going to be very cold. Single digits overnight tonight through Tuesday night.

They are hoovering in the run areas..outdoor, hot weather, chicken poops in abundant...recipe for flies infestation

I got these near the chicken runs, oh the smell is a shocker and it filled up with flies in 3/4 days. Still many flies chasing my chickens' fluffy butts....drink too much water, poop liquid and sticking on their bum bum feather.

Good Morning,

Almost midday, 2 coffee were done and dusted. We got heavy rain last night and it certainly did cooled up the air, but this morning the heat started again...grrrr....the world is falling into pieces and here I am complaining about the same weather that come every year....I need to go to the Gratitude thread to write about positiveness.

I have been reading up big time on letting a sick hen passes on naturally or off with the head. My hen stopped eating/drinking by herself almost 2 weeks now, I forced feed her. Last night she started to eat again, but only blue berries and the same this morning. To be or not to be...that is the question is postpone for now. I will let her be until she is looking uncomfortable. She has 2 drops of CBD oil twice a day.
DL, your holiday is coming very soon . Awhile back on the news that Thailand and Cambodia are at war, then settled, then started again. That is something to think about...avoid the borders.

It's not as cold as they threatened, but windy! Windchill is below zero.

Next weekend could have below zero temps overnight.

Yup, it's winter.
