You can't go wrong with crusty bread, good cheese and wines with some grapes or other fruit, Good company and you should be fine! Let us know how it goes!

Well, If it was me that you were taking on a picnic, I would be cautious if I thought you were going to a lot of trouble,
So put some really nice smelly stuff on your bod, "Givenchy por homme" is my choice! not too much.
What if it rains? have you got a plan B.?
Just have some really nice cheese, only a few will do , hard,soft and flavoured. Nice crackers in their box.
a knife, a tablecloth or throw to serve it on.
A nice sparkling champagney type of wine, makes my cheeks flush without sending me stupid! you can also pack a small can of peach or apricot nectar to mix with it.
Then just a KFC or other prebaked chicken pieces with a side dish. remember you arent going to too much trouble, save that for the Proposal!LOL
Then some handwipes in a small dispenser.
Now if you go in the evening and things are going very well you may want to have a emergency Candle in your car emergency kit!
Then most important is to dont try too much to impress, as us girls are pretty perceptive, dont bring up any baggage or talk about exes. Just be happy and humour her. if she isnt into chickens, dont talk about them too much!
If she talks about herself then you know she is comfortable.
If it was me and we both Jelled well I wouldnt need much food!!!

Add some nice red (seedless) grapes to go with the cheese and bread snacks. A cheese treat that I like serving is the (I forget what they call it) comes in a plastic tub and contains layers of pesto, creamy cheese and sun dried tomatoes. Spread that on some french bread (baguettes are great for picnics, but bring a sharp knive and cutting board) and she'll be impressed.

As for chicken, some hot wings wouldn't be bad of you can get those. Just bring napkins and wipes - or offer to lick her fingers.

A popular California wine is Ravenswood Zinfandel - very tasty. Or grab a Fetzer, or really anything from Napa or Sonoma. Tough to go wrong.

Chocolate covered strawberrys sounds good, but you could also get some nice rich truffles, served with a liqueur of your choice. Maybe a nice cognac. Yeah, that's the ticket!

As for the picnic with wine you need to get a hold of my Sister she is a Certified Somallia (SP)

Her job is to pick out the wines for you and the food to pair it with.​
