Put cold water in a pan and add eggs. Bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute (exactly). Remove from heat. Let sit, covered, for 20 minutes. Chill in running cold water for another 10 minutes, and peel immediately, then stick in fridge.
But if you're going to do eggs, then maybe a nice spinach salad to go with? Cut the eggs with some almonds, cranberries and feta? A little bit of raspberry dressing, pair it up with a nice fruity red wine....healthy, romantic, and using your own eggs....pretty impressive!
