Dawn Dish Soap

[Grits&Eggs]

Was doing a cleaning of my coop linoleum -unbeknownst to me the chickens knocked over the dawn dish soap and started having at it, you can lead a chicken to water....but you can't make them drink, so what else can I do? and why the heck did they eat soap? Yuck! will they even be around tomorrow????

I could start with a "leading cause of bubble butt" joke. They should be fine. Dawn is used by many rescue foundations to clean animals. I'm sure some have ingested it. Keep an eye on them and watch for any changes in behavior, also most likely expect some diareha. If it persists for more than a day or two further action may be required. Make sure they have plenty of fresh water available.

I would avoid inducing vomiting, it can lead to them aspirating and cause severe respiratory problems or death.
