Day 1 quail eggs already have an air sac?

Hello! With or without pictures, it is fine. You should not be worried about that, and also do not candle in the first 7 days because light will disturb the chicks. Also, all eggs have a air sack.

Hello everyone! Im currently incubating 3 quail eggs, and they all have air sacs. Is this normal?
The size of the air sac can be an indicator as to the age of the eggs.. ie how long they've been stored for and how much evaporation has taken place. The initial size of the air sac may be impacted by how warm or cold your ambient temperature is according to my understanding.

The size of the air sac is vital to good hatching AND can be an indicator of humidity level being too low or too high..

I disagree about light disrupting the embryo that early.. it is said however that it's preferred not to be candled between days 10-14 for chicken eggs.. as that's when their turning to to get in position for hatching. Not sure what day that might translate for quail.

This link has a cool video on how an eggs is formed.. written about chickens but carry's over with some timing discrepancy..
