I have read the same thing for the Brinsea- as I was looking into them before the broody's started setting lol. The young first time broody hen never went back to a nest
(apparently she quit after 1.5 weeks........ ) so we have kept the eggs under the other hen. They are all alive and well... moving all around when we candled them this past tuesday. The mother hen now has 14 eggs under her. All are developing perfectly- although at different stages. We have enclosed her to a brooder box- and plan on removing chicks as they hatch. Which will be any day now..... today is day 20 for the oldest ones. It has been suggested that we remove them right away so that she continues to sit on the rest of the eggs- until at least wednesday 5/16. I sure hope she does........ I was thinking that today I will borrow my brother in law's incubator, although I have never used an incubator yet, so....... just to be safe. If she decided to get off the eggs, then at least I would have a backup and they won't die. Just a little bit anxious!
I'll let you all know how the hatch goes..... will be really upsetting if any pass now. They were all doing awesome when we checked on tuesday. We'll see.............
