day 14, first incubation I've done, AIR CELL PROBLEMS!! Please help!!

I think ill switch sides for them then and hopefully that, with the lower humidity overall, might put them closer together air cell wise. I just really dont want to have 4 dead chicks because their air cells didnt develop on my very first incubation.. so we'll see how it goes. ill move them today.. lockdown is tuesday, so hopefully i'll have 8 beautiful, healthy chicks to share with you all by friday! (Fingers crossed!!)

How did your hatch go?

How did your hatch go?

Thanks for asking Annjee!! I had 5 of the 8 hatch.. one that didnt hatch had internally pipped so i made an external pip but the baby had already died.. never moved, peeped, rocked, nothing.. just laid where it was.. i just took my 3 eggs out of the bator yesterday (because i was still holding on to hope i guess) and didnt have the heart to eggtopsy.. the other two never pipped or even moved into position, either the right way or upside down, so im guessing they mustve died at some point during lockdown.. but i do have 5 healthy little chicks so im happy.. not too bad for my first shot at incubation! I have one splash silkie, one Blue silkie, the rest are silkie mixes, a couple of people on here said one was a brahma silkie mix and the other two were cochin silkie mixes.. but ill tell ya, theyre SO unfriendly compared to my 2 month old wyandottes!! Weird i know.. heres my babies yesterday!
Pearl (the splash)
700

Miss Blue (blue silkie obviously lol)
700

Dexter (brahma silkie mix?)
700

Raven (cochin silkie mix?)
700

Lana del Chickie-butt (cochin silkie mix?)
700

And as you can tell from the names, im being positive and hoping only one is a roo.. lol!!

Drop the humidity, run dry for a couple days and just keep an eye on all the air cells. In my opinion 50% is much to high for the first 17 days. This is the method I use: http://letsraisechickens.weebly.com...anuals-understanding-and-controlling-humidity
I have been having great success doing it this way (considered the "dry"incubation method.) I had 36 eggs go into lockdown on Tuesday and hatched out 33 of them.
I so needed to read this today. I’ve done dry incubation and it’s kept at 40% and my air cells look pretty spot on. I am almost shaking with relief as it’s been so confusing but I’m daring to hope it will be fine
