Try candling the eggs- the cracks may be easier to see that way.

Thanks for the link Ducklover, that article was really interesting. I don't actually keep any waterfowl and when I did have geese (totally free range) they hatched out their own eggs in secret then appeared one day with goslings! I'd love to try hatching out some runner ducks though, I really like them...
