That's so interesting! So at day 17 you're supposed to be able to see movement? Mine are all translucent and I can't see much movement.
I hope your eggs aren't completely transparent/clear. Usually at Day 17, a light brown or white egg will be full of chick (dark except the air cell). I can only see movement if I hold it very still and stare at one spot--then I see something wiggle and dip. I only saw movement when I waited for it.
I had the same thing happen to me. I was trying to collect hatching eggs from my olive egger, but right as I was trying to get them she decided to do a little molt and stop laying. Ah, chickens. What would we do without them? I hope the eggs do hatch- it'll be one for the books and a very nice story.
The eggs in the incubator are from a Wyandotte rooster and Amber Star, White Star, and Australorp hens, but I have many other breeds. I keep those breeds and Partridge Plymouth Rocks, Barred Rocks, EEs, and a Black Sex Link.
Haha..the hen who is laying my to-be-Olive-Egger eggs only just started laying again recently. I have 2 eggs from her for the next batch. Marans still aren't laying! I thought the Ameraucanas were kicking into their spring laying cycle because they both laid excellently for 1 week and I was very happy with them, but then they completely stopped again. April Fools for me, I suppose!
Interesting breeds!
