Day 16 and Confused

I have a day 19 SBEL wiggling and chirping, so it must be through the internal membrane. Wonder if I should be worried about the Ameraucana egg on day 18. It started rocking over 24 hours ago and hasn't pipped externally--it's not doing anything right now. The bantam egg hasn't done anything either. Would be fine except I don't like that it hasn't broken the external membrane. Seems quite wet in the bator but the membrane looks like it could be dry.

The legs were so clear that I could see 3 toes!

Well, I guess we're on the same timeline then, so maybe our first hatches will be on the same days too!! Oh, so then none of mine are moving like that. At least not yet...

I wish I knew more about the good/bad signs to hatching eggs, but I hope all goes well.

I think yours are fine. They're just going to be on time! If I didn't have bantams, I wouldn't have much going on.

I do have 1 chick now -- the bantam hatched in the night! 4 pips (3 of them bantam) & 1 EE wiggling. I still have 46 eggs doing apparently nothing, same as yours.

Oh that's wonderful!!! Congratulations!!!

Mine are still doing nothing. Times like these I wish I weren't so impatient.

Okay, so one egg is on day 21 with no signs of movement or a pip. I'm so nervous!

I have 21 chicks and it looks no more are going to hatch. No pips, except for one that made a sizable hole but looks all slimy and dead

Wonder if my humidity got too high? But I opened the bator lots of times to pull chicks & check everything when I saw there was a lot of condensation.

I candled several with masses in them that look developed. No movement. One has red veins, though, and was moving on Day 16-17. I was sure it was going to hatch...

I'm sorry, but at least you have 21 new arrivals.

This is my first time incubating, so I'm sure I'll learn more about humidity as time goes on.

Yes, I'm happy with the 21! Some chicks will go to a new home but as many as possible will stay here.

I know a "finished hatch" when I see one, I think, so here are statistics:

Factors That Influenced Hatch: 1) Incredible Age of Eggs, and 2) Way Eggs Were Stored (I tried storing in a cool place instead of refrigerating like I usually do - back to refrigerating! Apparently fridge is better after 2 weeks of storage)

CONS: None of my Marans or Olive Eggers hatched. The only egg from my Blue Ameraucana did not hatch.

PROS: Both the Easter Egger Sexlinks I hatched are girls! Got some new bantam colours and all my SBELs hatched. Everyone that hatched is healthy, and all but 1 that pipped made it out of the egg.

Chicks are; 7 SBEL, 6 bantam mix, 3 black Ameraucana, 2 EE Sexlinks, 2 EEs, & 1 EE bantam.
