Day 17 duck egg - quitter??

Struggling to get a half decent pic - sorry! No veins but a flickering when I candle - but looks like black gunk inside which moves like jelly. Which could explain flickering? Doesn’t smell. Quitter or hold for now?

They usually look a little fuller/darker by day 17 so you could have a quitter there. But if in doubt and it does not smell or it isn’t leaking fluid leave it in there.

Thank you… is it any different as this is a duck egg and incubation period longer? I think those pics are for chicken eggs but maybe concept is the same?! I don’t have the heart to discard so will keep it under broody for another week or so!

Your broody may discard it herself. Not always but often they roll eggs out that are no good
