Well the chick has made no progress It pipped this morning. What shouls I do???Maybe ut's too noisy right now and during the night it will start to zip????
I've only hatched out 8 chicks and one duck, and even so, some of those eggs were pipped 24-48 hours before they proceeded to zip (sometimes in 10-15 minutes) and hatch.
Don't open the lid. Don't try to help. Trust nature.

Couldn't say it better. Don't do anything. I had a rough time with my first try at hatching (turned out my rooster wasnt fertile yet) but when then I started hatching them and got about 40 chicks with 100% hatch rates. And every egg that pipped I wanted to help so bad luckily my hatched almost the same time they pipped. But aaalllooottt of chicks do not hatch for about 24 hours.
But the chick it just sitting in the egg doing nothing,It's Day 20.It hasn't done ANYTHING since this morning. What if it's not out by tommorow?Do I help it or check to see if it's cheeps when I tap on the egg or SOMETHING?
So what will it do???????It has just got to make it out!The chick came as far to pipping.Right now,I think it's trying to get out because it's moving. What if it pipped on the other end?Do I turn it over?
I just a yesturday had a chick that pipped and didnt hatch for 24 hours. He seemed to have a very hard time. I wanted to help so bad (something no one will ever get over) I always thought he was going to die, his membrane is going to dry out and he wont make it. It can take 24-48 hours. Just be calm. Everyone thinks of the worst if they dont hatch so soon. Just stay calm. Do not help him. He needs to do it all on his own. He can die if he doesnt do it on his own. Goodluck. Please let me know if you need anymore help.
