Day 17 pipping

Hi all, had my incubator at 38 degrees all the time and humidity at around 52%, this morning one of the eggs has pipped and is chirping away and moving inside the egg, i can only think that the egg had started off before it went in the incubator? I have raised the humidity up to 60% and all the other eggs (25) have no signs of movement or pipping.

Is there anything else i should do or any other advise please,

I have a day 19 pip at the moment. My humidity is at 67%. Good luck!

i'll try and get humidity up to 65%or a little higher then, good luck to you to Kelly

This is only my second attempt so someone might have a better opinion. From what I've read the humidity will fly up as soon as it hatches anyway.

Update on day 18, chick still moving , no more progress with the shell after pipping, humidity at 63%

Ok, day 18 after checking this morning the chick hatched this afternoon, all seems well and i heard a Silkie egg chirping and starting to move.

Not sure what breed this one is, can anyone tell? i had Light Sussex and white Legbar, it came from a brown egg so suspect its a Sussex. The other eggs in the incubator is are Silkie but they are a lot smaller and i also have 6 Ataucana but they are greeny/blue shell.



Also because it is by itself on day 18 and maybe the others wont come for 2 or 3 days is there anything i should do for when its by itself?

Yesterday was day 19 of my incucbation and got another chick this time from an Araucana egg



going to check on the eggs now, its day 20 and 1 had pipped yesterday

Hi again, day 20 update, got 3 more chicks today 1 light Sussex and 1 Splash Silkie. Got 21 eggs still in the incubator and 6 of them have pipped



Had a bad egg for the last few days, found it earlier, wasn't hard to find when i smelled it lol, carefully broke it open just in case there was a chick but only black slime
Working tomorrow so when i finish work i will get the proper brooder set up instead of a cardboard box.
