Day 17; Power Outage, eggs got cold :(

Yes. Even though it is making a larger pip, since it still hasn't gotten through the membrane, in another few hours that will be 24 hours so at that point I'll probably make a hole in the membrane where the beak is and take away some of the shell around it and see if it can do the rest itself. I think I'll call it McNugget :)

Good luck with mcnugget & your other hatching eggs. I woke up to find another chick had hatched & got to watch the last chick as it was coming out of it's shell. They are all doing good in the brooder. Maybe one of yours will hatch soon & you have to post a pic!

Someone turned my incubator off and it was lockdown day. I AM SO UPSET!!! I found out it was off for 4 hrs. The eggs were cold. I have turned it back on and am still going into lockdown to give it a try. Wish me luck. Glad you are having success after your power outage sireniasolaris. That gives me some hope.

It will be fine :) Mine was off for quite some time (possibly twice as long) and I still had 12 hatch. 3 had some funkiness going on with them and of them, two didn't make it, but I have 10 wonderful, happy chickens that are getting super spoiled! (Almost 2 months old now! )

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

I am on day 14 - 18 of my 3rd hatch. The breaker must have tripped yesterday while I was making yogurt. It was off for an estimated 18 hours. Today was the day to remove the egg turner and baton down the hatch. When I started moving the eggs I noticed they were cool. I proceeded as planned and restarted the incubator. Hopefully I will start getting chicks next week.
