Day 18 and nothing - Eight have hatched

I know you'll take great care of them!

A fifth, tiny little quail hatched tonight. I must have had my temps too low. I will fix that next time.

For anyone still interested, three more quail hatched between late last night and this afternoon.

So we're up to seven! Poor little guys, I will have to make sure I have the temps higher next time. But so far they are all healthy and energetic. And can you believe how high they jump! It's the cutest dang thing in the world.

I'm glad I kept the incubator going, and will probably even give it longer, since they keep making their way into the world.

Terrible picture, but here is what should be the first five. I'm sure one or two is hiding under their fuzzy duck.

That's great news! I'd probably just adjust it .5 degree and see what happens. You don't want to get it to high.

If next time it's still delayed go another .5 degrees. It's possible that your gauge is just a little off.

WOW!!!! Those late bloomers! LOL!

I agree with Sara about hte temp thing don't raise it up too too much but i agree it does need raised some!

You are soo lucky im envious of you! LOL! If mine dont all hatch the same day it's always because they died

I'm frankly amazed they are still hatching! I figured I would turn it off today but last night there was just the tinest pip on one. Imagine my surprise when I peek in and see three!

I am ordering MUCH better and accurate thermometers and hydrometers soon, so hopefully that will help out.

Ugh, I apparently never learned to count.

Correction: EIGHT have hatched. Five are in the brooder, three in the incubator.

I have to make sure everything is perfect for future eggs....especially the eggs from you monarc.

(I am on your waiting list...I hope!)

I will probably install fans as well, to turn this incubator, and the one I am getting, into forced airs.

My fingers are already itching to pop in eggs from my own chickens in the incubator, and its not even empty yet!
