Do I stop turning on the end of day 17 or the beginning of day 18?
meaning do I wait til morning or stop the turning tonight, tomorrow is day 18...

Also, my eggs have been in egg cartons so far, so standing up.
The chicks always have a little trouble pushing out going straight up
and the ceiling is pretty low in there (Brinsea Eco 20)
Does anyone think it will hurt them to lay them on their sides to hatch once they stop turning?
or is taking them out of the egg cartons and turning them from UP to sideways too much at this point?

any one have experience with this?

thanks for your thoughts

I thought they were supposed to be on their side when hatching????

I will turn mine for the last time early day 18 and then lock it down. I also am doing my first hatch so i really have no experience

No, they should be on their sides to hatch. take them out of cartons and stop turning now.

Beginning of day 18 they can stop turning and go on their sides. I am hatching that way currently just fine...have 6 babies so far on Day 20.

Thanks everyone!
I'm glad everyone thinks it's ok to turn them on their sides and thanks for the reminder on day 18 procedure!
Looking forward to meeting the new babies in a few days!!!
