Thanks everyone!! I have had to help each chick so far in getting out of their eggs. They seem to pip in one tiny area and can't move around to do anymore. I knew I had to step in. So far that's been 10 eggs. We've only lost the one chick
No wonder these little ones can't get out, they are too big for their shells and my goodness, is there enough layer of membrane. There were 2 that I didn't know had pipped because the spot where they pipped was facing down.
The ones that seemed really weak after I got them out, I gave some baby liquid vitamins, and in no time they had perked right up, and these were chicks that we thought would die.
I'm ready for a stiff drink myself, I've had about 4 hours sleep in the past 36 hours.
