Day 18 with project Lav Orpingtons.... **A PIP!!!*

I think I'm at the end of my hatch. I'll check for sure when I get home from work tonight, but I think I only have 3 splits and the rest are all lavender. I will take a pic of the little fuzzies later, too, and post it.
Now, if our weather would cooperate, I can pull my split quad out and start collecting eggs for some Lester grandbabies.

You guys seem to get better lav ratios than I do. lol Maybe shipping helps the lav gene. They are nice size and strong chicks, considering the mom's are still pullets. I'm so happy to hear you guys are getting great results on the eggs. Enjoy your peeps!

here is my update:
6 lav out of 16 Lil Bear chicks so far.

2 lav out of 5 Lester chicks so far.

So up to 21 chicks and more pips. When I woke up a chick hatched in each hatcher, so more should be coming today.

Thanks Cara! I do wonder how many of my chicks are everywhere. haha That is a great hatch...I hope the rest hatch for you! We do have something wonderful in our water up here.

My Lil Bear hatch looked finished, so I started moving them to the brooder. While I was pulling the chicks and shells out, another chick hatched right in front of me. There is 1 egg left and it is pipped, but I'm not sure if it will hatch. Total chicks 18 out of 19 eggs - 6 lavender and 12 blacks. Here are the 18 that I moved to the brooder.

Lester's hatch is still going, as I set some of his eggs a day later, so should finish up tonight. There is a total of 10 eggs of his. 7 are hatched so far, another zipping and 2 eggs waiting. Here's a peak thru the incubator window:
