She had 6 on day 10 and only 5 on day 15. I had moved her to her own small coup inside of the main coup and left her little door open so she could take bathroom breaks.... well one of my other girls decided she wanted to lay her eggs in broody nest and bullied her out. I removed new eggs but don’t know if one of them ate the 6th egg?? Do they do that if they are not developing? I searched and it didn’t get kicked out of the nest so IDK! Coup with 1/2 inch steal cloth so I don’t suspect snakes or other predator.
Here we are day 18 and momma is sitting tight to that nest, all candled with a flashlight and appear to be developing ( according to the chart of images I found) Small coup door is closed with food and water inside so no other chicken can bother her- she doesn’t seem to be moving off the nest at all. ( camera in coup for sneak peaks!
Day 21 is Christmas Day and I am hoping Santa brings baby chickens!!!!
This is my first time with a clutch and I am super excited, cautiously optimistic yet worried something will go wrong. Trying to trust Mother Nature.....In awe of the whole process!!!!
