I just checked on them, and apparently momma wanted to help one of her babies out. Glad she did, because it couldnt peck through the shell.

So, I pulled the chicks head out, and set it back under the mother. Looks to be blue, or blue splash chick.

1 more egg to go. Looks like it was laid 1-2 days after they started sitting.

Other silkie egg died after pecked through air sac, and the other silkie egg died about 1 week ago. And my mutt egg died about 3-5 days ago.

I know. Im so glad I got a black chick. My first Black Silkie of the year. I am glad I also got blues/blue splash chicks, because my last splash chick drowned. Stupid me left the waterbowl in instead of the chick waterer.

I will be taking pics tomorrow. Of couse, it is supposed to downpour from late morning all through the day. So maybe in the morning I can get some pics.
