I HAVE A CHICK!!!

A perfect, beautiful little silkie chickie!!!
I have no idea how this little guy survived 104+ temps for over 8 hours, but he/she is here and perfect!
This is my very first chicken, very first hatch...and I was able to witness the whole thing. It woke me up from
a dead sleep at 4 am with the loud chirping from inside the egg. I had THOUGHT that I heard peeps when I went
to bed, but thought it was just wishful thinking.

So I called in for work (of course!) and I'm downing a bag of pretzel M&M's in celebration!

...and now I have one almost completely out and it looks like 2 more pips! This is SO EXCITING!!!!

And thank you, coyote, for the kind words. I have 2 beautiful white silkie chickies stumbling happily around the 'bator. It looks like 2 more pips that have not progressed since around 1 pm. I'm trying to be patient with the "pippers", but I'm having a hard time resisting reaching in to snag out the 2 rambunctious rascals to put them in their brooder. PPAAAATTIIEENNNNCCEEEE...walk away from the 'bator...
