Day 2 hatched Ameraucans in the brooder

Just posting my experience so far with the new metal brooder on the deck out back (screened raised deck as well).

Hatched yesterday, 9/9 that were viable. Took everyone’s advice and used a heat plate this round instead of the old fashioned like I used to. First night went great. Temps were mid 50s unexpectedly but the birds were perfectly fine in the morning.

These supposed to be self blue ameraucanas but genetics aren’t always 100%. Got them from eggwell farm.
