This is my 1st attempt at hatching eggs and I would have thought they would be moving or something but they're just sitting there. I candled them at day 18 everything looked good. I bought 5 death layers on eBay only 2 made it to lock down. One arrived cracked so the seller sent me 3 more but only one is developing.

In my experience chicken eggs don't really move around a lot, not even right before they hatch. Them not moving doesn't mean they aren't going to hatch :)

What temperature and humidity have you been keeping your incubator at? Did the air cells look like they were developing correctly?

If you're worried, it wouldn't hurt anything to candle them briefly to see what's going on with them.

Ok so one looks like it piped ok the other is on the bottom Nowhere near the air sak. I turned it over but I don't know what to do next 20190725_113141.jpg []

Now you just wait :) The one that pipped away from the air cell is probably going to take awhile to zip out, since it missed the air cell and had to externally pip when normally it would have been just internally pipping.

The one that piped in the right place hatched. Yay
She (I hope) hatched last night between 10 and 12. I left her until 9 this morning so as to not mess up the humidity in the incubator. She was dry but her feathers have dried gunk in them she's not all poofy and fluffy but still the cutest thing ever. I'm kind of sad she's all alone in the brooder I put the other egg on a wet paper towel but nothing yet. Humidity has gotten really high so I'm thinking I should take that wet paper towel out.
If this other egg doesn't hatch the chick will be all by herself. The brooders in the chicken areas so she can hear other grown chickens but of the replacement eggs I was sent for the cracked 1 only 1 is developing and it's 10 days from hatching. I guess what I'm asking is should I go to the feed store and get a chick so she's not alone? 12948.jpeg

The big chickens come up to the screen door of her house and talk to her, I feather checked and I'm pretty sure she's a she. She seems healthy, happy and totally bonded to me. If I poke the chick feed she runs over and eats and if I poke the water she come to drink. So I guess my question is should I drive 2 hours to buy a chick so she has a friend? I have one egg in the incubater that is on 23 and doesn't look like it's going to hatch and one replacement egg that is looking good on day 12.
