I have 10 little eggs in the incubator, on day 20. They are the ones that were in the nests when I got back from Christmas trip. I had nothing to loose... Started with 21, but 11 were taken out as not developed at day 8 (exposed to the cold / laid in the muddy leaves etc). 5 are silkie, 5 are easteregger/silkie hen with Salmon Favorelle rooster. Should be an interesting mix, at least calm gentle personality. I'm expectantly excited!

Good luck for a great hatch!!

anything yet? I have a staggered hatch going and the oldest is on day 14 so I need a fluffy but fix quickly.

I had some cracking marks on some eggs last night as I when to bed, of course checked when I woke up through the night. There was no change this morning and less peeping response, so I have helped out a little. Each one that had crack marks, I peeled back parts of the shell and moisened the membranes so they should be able to get out. The ones that had no marks, I opened. (probably a no! no!) but this is my nothing to loose batch. I found 2 were dead, I removed those, the others, 3 I can't tell yet, but another one had opened the lining, but not the shell, so I have probably saved her. Still expectantly waiting!
