I am soooo excited!! It's day 20 and after we got home from church today, we had 5 eggs that were "pipped". Its 9pm and so far we have 4 that have hatched (soooo cool for a first timer to see). For those that saw that I moved them into my formal dining room....my wife has been GLUED to the incubator all day!!! Too funny. We have 9 left and 5 of those are "pipped". Wish they would hurry up before I need to go to bed. Everything seems to be going well.....we have one little chick that is a bit mean though. Pecking his brothers/sisters in the eyes and everywhere else. I hear thats normal so we are just letting him be. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer for my last 9. Update to come again later.....have a great evening.

945pm.....another just hatched. Boy they gotta do a lotta work to get out of that shell. My children are NEVER going to bed.....their teachers are going to hate me tomoorw. But, they are sooo excited. Naming each one as it hatches (like we'll be able to tell who's who tomorrow)

Isn't it great?! I like that we've got an actual guy here who's all excited about chicks hatching. My DH was pretty excited as well, but to him those are my babies, and his biggest kick is watching me act like a broody hen. I made the bator, procured the eggs and plastered my nose to the glass until they hatched. He's really pushing me to find some BCM's though and I have a feeling that if I ever get ahold of some of those eggs, I'll get to sit back and watch him brood them.

I envy you so, keep the kids up, they can tell all about it at show and tell, or write about it during writing time, they could even be logging the length of time each chick takes to break through. Congrats to your new additions.
