Day 20 and nothing... I GOT A PIP!!

ok, so i've been watching the threads in this section about pipping on day 18/19 then little fuzzy butts popping out in a day or two but there is nothing happening for my fuzzy butts!

Day: 20
Humidity: 65%-70%
Temp: 99-102
Me: wants to yell at the babies to come out, they are hard-headed or hard shelled in this case...

is there something wrong!?
i hope we didn't mess anything up.
this is a homeade incubator btw. we have a little giant coming today or tomorrow

Sit tight.:<) I had a 3 day hatch over the weekend. They took a day longer and didn't even begin to peep till late on the 22nd day.

I have 12 EE in the bator and it is day 22. There hasn't been a peep from anyone. This morning at 7:00 I had a pip at 7:40 I checked again and I had 3. Still no peeps. Don't worry yet. Not until day 25.

Oh, and yelling for them to come out doesn't work. My 3 yr old did that yesterday.

its only day 20 so you still have one day to go yes some do hatch early but this time of year with temp changes and other factors late hatches are more common so day 23 and 23 will tell the full story. good luck

Be patient. This morning makes day 23. Last night...NOTHING. This morning...3 BABY CHICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope a go home to more.

I am finding some are quieter before they start hatching. My Ameraucanas were hollering for two days before they popped out, but my Marans were mostly quiet, and only cheeped very softly at pip.

So . . . hang in there! And happy hatching.

I've had chicks pip and hatch on day 24/25. Just be patient.

I had no peeping I could hear untill they were almost out. And this is day 24 and I have one zipped and almost out, he is my 23rd.

Go to the park, go shopping, something. My favorite times were the night because I always woke up to some new pips or chicks or something, and I wasnt stressed out about them, they just happened.

I got my first pips thursday morning, and we are still going. So I have had a LOT of waiting!
