Is the cord attached to the chick or yolk sac?

The yolk stuff is wrapped around the foot which is connected to the pink cord which waconnected to the membrane and shell, but I pulled the shell off.

Hmmmm.... I tend to have bad luck with yolk chicks. I'm just as much as a newbie to them as you are right now, I've had my first two yolkies this hatch. I'm not completely sure what you should do, but it should probably be different from what I did /:

I don't think it was a yolk sac because all of the other chicks had it connected to their bum too.

Ah ok that's good then it's probably just gunk- all chicks have it when that hatch
