DAY 20 OF EGGS NO SIGNS OF CHICKS

hi,

I have a hen that went broody on the 20th of march today is the 20th day of her sitting on the eggs. i have been searching on the internet and i found out that on day 20 there should be internal piping from the chicks or noise, but sadly i haven't had this at all, i did candle the eggs on day 10 and it seemed everything was going fine. i am starting to worry and this is the first time i have had a broody hen, should i be worried and is there anything i can do to help my poor hen

The picture shown is dead egg I'm afraid.

Eggs can sometimes take 23 or even 25 days to hatch. How many eggs is she on? If you post some pics of each egg I might be able to help you more.

Thx for replying, she is sitting on 12 eggs total, she was sitting on 14 but sadly 2 broke.

I'm afraid I'm not seeing anything that looks like it may be going to hatch from your eggs. By day 20 your eggs should look very full of chick and dark and I'm not seeing that in the pics you have posted

Hi there, I'm having the same problem but mine are in an incubator. Yesterday was day 21

I sat there last night all full of hope and not one pip! Does anyone know the latest they have pipped? Thank you x

My chicken came out to eat food so i decided to check the eggs in the nest box and when i did i heard a little tweet, i was so happy but confused at the same time (day 22)
