Day 20.

Help. I'm new at this chicken addiction. I have tried 3 times to hatch silkie chicks. The last time the incubator went haywire on day 15 and overheated. This time I bought a new incubator and watched it closely. I kept the temp at 99. To 99.9 never any warmer. I kept the humidity at 45 to 55% and I had extra thermometer-hygrometer (sp) to make sure. So now it's day 20 and no pips or sounds. I know they were alive when I started lockdown on day 17. I'm so afraid I've done something wrong again. The temp is 99.1 and humidity is at 70%. These are shipped eggs. I left them for 24hrs before I put them in the incubator and then no rocking for the 1st 7days. I'm following how Cornell university does their shipped eggs. Ugh, do you think something has gone wrong between day 17 and today? HELP

Mine never show signs of hatching until the night of day 20. Usually not until 21 do I see they move or peep

Mine started to peep between day 19 and day 22, they were all shipped eggs and they all hatched even if they were carried under 85 degrees.

I just meant they were shipped under 85F and they all hatched!

Why would that temperature hinder them from hatching?? I get eggs shipped in all different weather and temps.

Be patient not all eggs are created equal, so just keep an eye on it. They are still a chicken so the 21 day rule applies.
