Day 20

I have silkie mixes in my incubator on day 20.. two have hatched and are doing great one is piped since early this morning but hasn’t made much progress but I see it moving. The other four have no piped at all. Is this something I should be worried about or are the two just early ?

The other two are just early. I wouldn’t start assuming that they died until day 23, until then leave them in the incubator. Hatching is tiring for chicks so they often take naps after they’ve pipped. They can nap for 24 hours, sometimes a bit longer. Mine have only ever napped for a few hours after they pip. I wouldn’t be worried. Don’t keep the ones that already hatched in the incubator after they are 24hrs old even if the other chicks haven’t hatched yet, put them in the brooder.

The 3 hatched the other four still have not piped. But I’ll see what the morning holds
