day 21 no chicks!! help!!!

...just heard a peep! I 'thought' they were due 13March-maybe they(fingers crossed)just wanted to be St.Pat's day hatchlings.Hope you have some pips and peeps!

My last hatch was Ameraucanas and none of them even pipped until the middle of the 22nd day; most of them hatched over the next 24 hours

. However, I had one hatch on the 24th day and used the float test on the remaining eggs that night. The results led me to put a couple back in the bator and one more hatched on day 25. Don't lose faith too early!

I'm just going by what my book says (Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens)...Temp is supposed to be lowered by 1/2 to 1 degree for hatch. 99.5 F is for forced air incubators not still air. Not sure what kind you have.
