Day 21

What will you do with all of them!!??

Some are replacements for me and the rest will be sold. A lot of the quail are already spoke for. I feel the majority of the time I can’t hatch enough for the demand around here. I took spring 2018 off on hatching and have several people on me to get back going. When all you do is farm, it makes a nice little side income. Hence the reason I have so many cabinets and hatchers. Lots of 4H animals sold as well.

Nice to have a market!

Nice to have a market!

Built it over lots of years. Just like hogs. I would have already put a bullet in everyone of them as the market has been horrible for years but I have a client base for them and charge what I need to. I sell weaned piglets at $45-$50 a nose and then have locker dates throughout the year for for finished hogs. Waiting list is full up and sold before litters hit the ground. And trust me, anytime I can sell a weaned piglet for that, I can’t get them off the farm fast enough. LOL

I guess I prematurely was getting nervous  We have a larger incubator with more settings but this itty bitty one literally has a little canal that needs to have water “kept in it at all times”. Not sure how i would adjust the humidity in this cheesy thing. :lau
Does it have a little hole in the lid? Use one of those marinade injectors, try to get it where the eggs aren't in the way, gently squeeze lukewarm water in. It looks like the same one might friend got for his son.

I’ve got 6-700 quail and chickens hatching over the next week. I can send you some more....

That's a lot of birds! Sounds like a lot of work!!! We have a little hobby farm and my daughter, who is 8 is an animal fanatic so loves to take on new "jobs".

Great idea! I have one of those!

They’re probably just taking a break, if you open the incubator just make it quick, none of my babies shrink wrapped (except 1 it was his fault he piped at the small end and then turned around and piped at the other end and just way to much air in there he’s good though) they should hatch in time though! What breeds are they?

Australorp and Barred Rock :)
