This is it... Day 21 has finally arrived. New incubator and first time round for me. I've been hearing some peeps for the last 24 hours and see tiny pip holes in about 7 of the 34 eggs. One of them has made very little progress since it first appeared last night, but it can take 24 hours for these things to happen, can't it??? I don't think I will relax until I see one safely out of the shell.

TOO KEWL!...We're a few hours from day 20 and can't stop staring at them!...I'm either face first in the glass or ear to the vent holes listening for that first peep!...Keep us updated!

Congrats on the pip!

It can take up to 3 days to fully hatch. Usually once it first pips, it hatches within 24-36 hours, but can take much longer. Just leave the lid closed until all of the eggs have hatched.. the chicks can stay in the incubator safely for a couple of days.. they are still absorbing their egg yolks..

Still no chicks, but more pips. I've been playing Garth Brooks for the little darlings and they are rockin' and rollin" in there (or maybe it's the two-step!). My hubby is overseas (home Saturday... yippee) and is cracking up at all my excitement.

It sounds like you may be running a little cool. sometimes it does take a while for them to hatch but they should be finishing up on day 21 not starting. Normally if it takes over 24 hrs for them to hatch something is a little wrong.
Good Luck

First little one has hatched... HOORAY! I thought he/she is supposed to be exhausted by all the work of getting out, but instead is quite active and telling the rest of them to hurry up!
