It is day 22 and one chick have successfully hatched and 3 more chicks pip. The wiggling motion inside each of the four other eggs, indicates that there are four chicks inside, but none of them pip. Should I wait for several more hours, or make a hole on the side of the egg where the airsac is located, to check them. So far as I know, there might be 8-10 chicks that is alive right now, out of the 21 eggs. 12 days ago, my broody hen pecked one of her eggs, and when I opened it, I didn't see any signs of embryo development, like blood. Should I candle the remaining eggs, or open them, or wait for at least a day from now?
What are some possible reasons that there is no sign of embryo development on my chicken's egg at day 10, even though my rooster had sex with her?
The mother of the chicks is a buff cochin and the father is mix breed( father is a wheaton std. old english game folw, but I don't know the breed of the mother).
