Day 22 chicks haven't hatched but there's some pecking noises. What do I do?!?!

Can I do anything else to encourage them to hatch?!?! I'm not that patient

not really, they still have yolk outside of them, and while they are resting and learning to breath that pulls the yolk the rest of the way in.

why do the chicks feel the need to come out of their shell?

I knew this once.... there's some kind of chemical build up that makes their head twitch and poke through the membrane and then the shell, and zipping and hatching is a part of that too. I can't remember what chemical it is. but it's along the same lines as your legs are tired from running and now theyre shaking.

That's likely part of it. but once they've pipped externally they have air readily. I honestly cant remember.
