Hi guys, I put 26 eggs in the incubator on day 21 25 of them hatched but there is still one egg remaining. I opened the incubator to check the egg but couldn’t see or feel an external pip. The chick was peeping inside the egg, I candled it quickly could see it was moving around and put it back into the incubator. The air cell of the egg is quite large and covers almost half of the egg. Should I wait and see what happens or is there something I could do. Thanks

I have no experience in this but have been reading you can help the chick with making a tiny hole where the chick started to peck. I suppose there must be an article on this issue.

How did it go? Did your little one hatch ? I usually would wait and give a chick the chance to do the work, sometimes it’s over 24hrs, it is a lot of work to peep

Hi, the chick did hatch on its own. I’m glad that I waited and didn’t start making a safety hole because that could have gone very wrong. I had 26 chicks hatch out of 26 eggs.
