Hello Ya'll,
I am a classroom teacher and I have a flock of 21 hens. I am hatching eggs in an incubator for my class as we have been studying chickens :) The kids have been so excited as we counted down the 21 days and yesterday there was no action. It is day 22 and nothing. I candled and see many that look fully developed ( I am no pro but I have also had my hens hatch out babies and candled more than a few times). The air sacs look great. I am so worried that my kids will be so very dissapointed again if Monday morning comes and no baby chicks. I ordered my eggs from MyPetChicken. Last time I ordered from there I had one of 7 hatch. I was hoping for better luck this time. I have 13 eggs. Does anyone think we still have a chance?

NO not one. I checked the temperature in the incubator (It has a temp control and display that I trusted :(. It is a brandnew Manna Pro Harris Farms Nurture Right Incubator- I put in my own thermometer and it read 94 f! I think that was the problem On Day 24 I cracked open each egg.. Not one had developed. One blew up and let me tell you that was the most disgusting smell ever! I am so sad. My students were crying. They are little chick experts, we studied and did different chick development activities for 21 days. I asked them if they wanted me to buy day old chicks and they said yes. So that's what I did. :)
