Today is day 22. There is one egg (out of 25) that looks liked it may have pipped but I'm not sure. A portion of the shell is missing but it looks like the membrane is in tact. Is that possible? I don't see anything else going on with the other eggs. I'm starting to get nervous!

I usually give a couple of days...just in case. I have had chicks hatch at day 24 for whatever reason. Make sure your humidity is good and try to be patient...I know its hard.

I had a set take 25 days to pip. But when the first one did.....Bam!!! it was like pop corn! Don't worry yet. I think (after talking to several people) that the weather can have a big effect on hatching time. I noticed a trend of my eggs taking 1-2 days longer if a storm front came through. I have heard nothing to back me up on this. but I talked to alot of people and after thinking about it. they said they also had weather fronts change around hatch date. I think its mother nature telling the chicks to wait until the worste part of the storm passes before popping out. Again its just my personal opinion. But i have heard of some even hatching on days 26-27!!!! I know its less likely after 25 but you never know. I personally leave them atleast 26 days as long as they are not smelling.

Good Luck and God Bless!

Thank you everyone for the reassurance. It's now been 3 hours since I noticed the "pipped"? egg and no changes. Come out chicks!

It can be 24 hrs from pip to POP!!!

Good luck and hang in there!

God bless!

Added: I think it helped when I cheeped and pecked on the plexi-glass. My DW thought I was Insane! LOL Then she started to do it too! Hahahaha
