So I have 4 adorable Silver Polish in the brooder doing great! I still have 6 in the incubator who haven't pipped yet. I also have 10 Copper Marens in same bator today's day 21 for them.
I reached in and quickly candles all the Polish and all but one is moving, so maybe just late bloomers? I know out of my original 14 Maran eggs, 4 were not fertile, so trashed them, 4 were questionable and 6 were moving day 16 when I locked down everyone.
I've kept humidity at around 50% until lockdown, and around 65-70% since lockdown. Temps have been stable, so wondering why the obviously alive polish eggs are not even pipped at day 23. ??

I have heard of some eggs hatching around days 23-25 even. It is weird and it happens a lot to people who are new to hatching. It might be the incubators, what kind of incubator/hatcher do you have? It could be because of humidity/temp/turning problems when they were incubating. Were you turning them or do you have an automatic turner?

I personally have my humidity at 75% when hatching, I see better results but I highly doubt that 65-70% would affect them to hatch late.

Thank you, I started out with a clear lid plastic one (can't remember the name) because my long time Hovabator broke. One week into incubation, I couldn't keep the humidity stable and I was worried about the oxygen levels. So my hubby ran down to our local feed store and bought me a new Little Giant with digital readout, fan and auto Turner. I put 2 hydrometer and digital thermometers in it, and one water old fashioned thermometer on top of the eggs. For the remaining 16 days, the digital readout were 100% a match to all of my hydrometer and thermometers.
I used to hatch all the time, it's been several years, but am stumped. I took out the Polish eggs today, followed TO A TEE the info written here, candles, saw movement is a couple, none in 4 others, but not seeing internal popping, I did the 100° water, submerging and EVERY egg showed viable, none sank, none showed more than the good sized air cell above water. So dried and put back in. 5pm today was the start of day 23 for them, and beginning of day 21 for the marans, so will wait...and wait. Thank you
