Day 23 now. Cracked egg from under broody hen. What to do? Advice appreciated.

Candled again around mid-morning and she was still kicking, although not quite as vigorously as last night.
I marked the line around the air cell, put a tiny bit more Polysporin on her, and set her back in the incubator.
I'm loving the Incuview right now because I can keep an eye on the cracked egg so easily.

I just checked her broodmates, and they're not hatched yet either. Although our broody has moved them all halfway across the nest box. So if the eggs under the broody haven't hatched, I don't think this one's quite due just yet. Maybe later today? Or tonight?

Out in the nest box our broody is still sitting on the eggs. It's day 22 for everyone in this clutch so I don't know what's up with that. Maybe it's because daddy's an Orpington so they're all on the bigger side genetically? One of the eggs in the nest box has an external pip and one has an internal pip (I know 'cause I could hear her peeping!)

No pip or peeps yet from the cracked egg. I took her out earlier this morning, candled quickly, put a new coat of polysporin on the cracks, and put her into a small bowl. I put a warm, damp paper towel on the bottom of the bowl and some saran wrap over it, then poked a few holes in the saran. Then I put the whole thing back in the incubator. My theory there is that if she's alive, this will give her more humidity than the rest of the incubator. She's not sitting on the towel, it's just rolled up along the inside edge of the bottom of the bowl.

Keepin' my fingers crossed!

ARGH! The waiting is KILLING ME!

In related news: Cracked egg is still wiggling occasionally. No pip yet. Her siblings under our broody don't appear to be in any hurry either.

Make sure there is plenty of air flow in the bowl! I'm not sure saran wrap is a good idea...she needs lots of oxygen right now!
Yep. I've had air holes in the saran. I've just been trying to slow the moisture loss from the paper towel. But I could see the edges of the holes int he saran moving with the fan's airflow, so I'm assuming O2 levels were OK.
However, I haven't seen much movement lately, and no pips at all, so I think this little one didn't make it.
I'll hold off on eggtopsy for a bit longer, though.
