I have 20 eggs in my incubator and it is now day 24 and I have no pips! My temp has been steady at 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit). The humidity level was kept between 50-55% day 1-17, then 65% during lockdown. Why would my chicks not be hatching? I've never had this happen where NONE of the chicks hatched. Is it too late or could they still be coming??

Did you calibrate your thermometer and hydrometer? Did you candle before lockdown? Double check on you set dates too because there seem to be a lot of post where people forget which day they started on .

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

Are we talking chicken eggs? Did you happen to use a calibrated therm/hygrometer? What color eggs? Did you have any power outages? What kind of bator?

Humidity was too high, for my comfort... I would candle now if you aren't hearing any chirping indicating internal pip HAS happened.

They are chicken eggs, a barnyard mix. I am using a no name incubator (plastic not styrofoam) with an automatic turner. It is only the 2nd time that I have used this particular incubator but my 1st hatch was fine. I wish I had put a 2nd thermometer/hydrometer in it to see if my internal incubator sensors are accurate.
I candled the eggs on day 7, 12 and 18. Everything looked good along the way. The chicks were developing and growing and the air pockets looked good. No power outages or anything.
I took two out today to look inside and it didn't look like the chicks had pipped internally into the air pocket. I don't hear anything coming from any of the eggs either. What else should I be looking for when I candle the eggs at this point? The chicks are filling up the egg so much that would I even be able to see movement?
EggSighted4Life- what would you recommend I keep my humidity at?
Thanks yall!!
